DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 4 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) today stated that it stands for a future that ensures meritocracy and a system that encourages the aspirants and policies that benefits the society as a whole.
A press release from the ANCSU President, Vimeyiekho Vitso; Vice President, Inato Y Chisho; and General Secretary, Imnameren N Jamir therefore welcomed the setting up of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB).
“No civilization is forbidden to enhance one’s academic knowledge and experiences, through educational institutions or otherwise, it must be the endeavour of all to avoid illogical demand(s) that demeans the efficiency of a qualified aspirant,” the union stated.
It recognized that certain sections of society need special attention, “but the union cannot be quiescent when the structure of meritocracy and fair competition is to be overshadowed taking such advantages.”
It implored the State Government to “apply good sense of judgement impartially and rationally that benefits our Naga society as a whole and not bow down to short sighted irrational and unethical demands which would vanquish the very purpose of NSSB.”
The union said it would object any element that “obstructs the rational implementation of the NSSB.” It further urged the government to implement the NSSB at the earliest.
