KOHIMA, JULY 2 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has strongly condemned the repeated burglary offences allegedly committed by Kekietuo Solo, including thefts from multiple institutions in Kohima.
In a statement, ANCSU said the accused had reportedly stolen Rs 45 lakh from Baptist College Kohima, Rs 35,000 from Oriental College Kohima, and Rs 3 lakh from Kohima College. He has also been linked to similar incidents involving the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) and other establishments.
Describing the incidents as “a threat to civil society and educational institutions,” the Union said such acts undermine values of trust, honour, and integrity, and have caused widespread fear and panic within the academic community.
The Union appreciated the efforts of the police in apprehending the accused, stating that their commitment to “security, service and sacrifice” was evident in the swift action taken.
ANCSU expressed confidence that the law would take its due course and called for the accused to be punished as per the provisions of the law to deter similar incidents in future.
The Union also appealed to citizens and organisations to collectively condemn such acts and stand for justice and public safety.
