ANCSU puts proposed agitation ‘in abeyance’

Dimapur, August 16 (MExN): Following the demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India on August 16 the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has put its proposed agitation “in abeyance posing good faith to the state government and urged upon all students to keep patience until the next meeting.”  

As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, seven days of state mourning is to be observed, for which the state government is also to be observing accordingly.  

As such, understanding the position of the state government as well as the timely intervention of the Minister for Higher & Technical Education and also as per the optimism of the state government to meet the ANCSU after the mourning week, the proposed agitation has been put in abeyance, ANCSU stated in a press release. The ANCSU has also fully assured the students that the union will not give up until justice is delivered.  

Meanwhile, the union also conveyed condolence on the demise of late Atal Bihari Vajpayee on August 16.
