ANCSU reiterates demands on KSC, scholarship and teachers shortage

Cautions of ‘Intensified Digital Protest’

Kohim, October 26 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) today reminded the State Government and the Department of Higher Education of its October 3 representation with a 30-day time frame.

Reiterating the given time frame, the Union highlighted that the representation called for construction of boundary fence and re-allocation of land at Kohima Science College (Autonomous) Jotsoma; setting up scholarship Nodal Cell; and addressing shortage of teachers under the Higher Education as well as contractual teachers and salary.

If the issues are not addressed within the stipulated time i.e. on or before November 3, the union will hold all officers under the Department of Higher Education and those concerned departments implementing scholarship schemes “accountable for any eventuality,” the ANCSU stated in a press release.

Despite regular representation to the department and even after ascertaining the genuineness of these issues, the department is yet to deliver any concrete solution to the issues, for which the aforementioned representation was submitted to the state Chief Secretary, it maintained.

In this connection, the release issued by ANCSU President Toito D Chishi and General Secretary, Tenyesinlo Bukh cautioned that the union will not “shy away in exposing those officers of the concerned department who have been failing to uphold the aspiration of the college fraternity.

In addition, the union said it will  launch an ‘Intensified Digital Protest.’

The ANCSU further informed all its members to be prepared for any call as the union “cannot allow any hindrance in delivering justice to the students’ community.”
