ANCSU urges CM to restore facilities damaged at KSCJ

Kohima, April 7 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has appealed to the Chief Minister of Nagaland to initiate action to restore the laboratories and other facilities damaged in a fire at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (KSCJ) in the wee hours of April 4.  

In a letter to the CM, ANCSU President, Zhoku Thuluo and General Secretary, Benjong Longchar stated that 3-4 laboratories and research instruments were damaged by the fire causing huge loss to the students’ community in general.  

Expressing solidarity and concern over the loss and damage, the students’ union further stressed that an institution like Kohima Science College cannot run effectively without proper instruments and laboratory facilities.  

“Therefore, we the ANCSU feeling the problems faced by the students community, appeal to your kind authority to take stock of the situation at hand and initiate action by way of restoring the necessary materials at the earliest,” the letter stated.  

The union hoped that the petition in the interest of the students’ community will be considered and taken up as a priority subject and the needful done through the CM’s immediate intervention.
