ANDMSA urges CM to intervene in their demands

Kohima, June 14 (MExN): The All Nagaland District Ministerial Service Association (ANDMSA) on June 13 submitted a representation to the Chief Minister of Nagaland “due to the failure and lackadaisical attitude of the Committee for Framing of District Ministerial Service Rules towards the District Ministerial Service.”

The representation sought the intervention of Chief Minister Shürhozelie Liezietsu in the three Charter of Demands of the association as “there is vast disparity in pay range and post held between the Directorate and District Ministerial Service when the recruitment policy and criteria of both are same,” stated a press release from ANDMSA.

The three Charter of Demands are: Amalgamation of Directorate and District Ministerial cadre into Common Ministerial Cadre; Creation of HA/Sr. HA in all the independent DDOs and SDHA to sub-divisions; Re-designation & elevation of DHA & Sr. HA post to that of District Superintendent Class-I Gazette and SDHA/Accountant to that of Asst. Superintendent Class-II.

The association had earlier submitted two representations to the Committee vide No. ANDMSA-GEN-COR/1/2015 dated 03-08-2015 and 18-02-2016 and a reminder dated 14-09-2016 and ultimatum dated 19-10-2016 to the Chief Secretary. “However, our request was not considered,” the release lamented.

In this regard, the association had also decided to hold statewide agitation as resolved by the house in the Federal Assembly on July 24, 2016, but reconsidered the decision with a view not to harass the general public, it added.

Therefore, the ANDMSA has urged the Chief Minister to intervene into their case compassionately and use his good office and wisdom to deliver justice to the District Ministerial employees.

Further, it requested all the district units to be ready for any consequences in the event of failure on the part of the Government to address their demands as decided on May 16, 2017.

The press release was appended by Shilumenba Alinger, president, Inato Sangtam, vice president, and T. Limhachan Kithan, general secretary.
