Dimapur, May 30 (MExN): The All Nagaland Petroleum Dealers Union (ANPDU) on Monday informed that it would be joining the nationwide ‘No Fuel Purchase’ from oil companies on May 31. The outlets, however, will continue to function.
In a statement on Monday, the ANPDU highlighted that the government’s sudden policy decision to reduce the retail selling price on fuel has had adverse effects on dealers.
“...This irrational policy decision of the incumbent government of reducing the (RSP) retail selling price, suddenly and at once, has induced huge loses to the dealers. Here it is to be noted that the (OMCs) oil marketing companies are not incurring any losses due to this drastic and sudden lowering of prices, but it is the stock of the dealers which has depreciated in value, which is borne by the dealers,” the ANPDU maintained.
Stating that it has, as essential service providers, provided services even during the pandemic despite low traffic and at risk of lives, it opined that the reduction should not be at the expense of either the consumers or the dealers. However, it expressed confidence that the government would take all things into account while making policies on fuel, for the welfare of the people in the future.
