Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): The Ang Mai-led NSCN (K) has levelled various charges against Yung Aung, including sabotage, accusing him of trying to be a 'lone saboteur,' especially to the Eastern Nagas, and a stain on the entire Naga people.
In a press release from its MIP, the Ang Mai-led NSCN (K) maintained that one of the most “blatant falsehoods” of Yung Aung is his “empty claim of fighting” the Indian Security Forces and the Myanmar Army.
“In reality, these staged acts are only aimed at uprooting the future of students and reintroducing socio-economic degeneration into Naga society,” it said, alleging that his true approach is his individualistic ambitions, not Naga Sovereignty.
The Ang Mai-led NSCN (K) further accused Yung Aung of manipulating a “handful of followers under the pretext of Sovereignty,” though the aim is to “enforce illegal taxation upon innocent Nagas,” citing “extortion of taxes for the years 2024, 2025, and 2026” in one go.
The Nagas have never witnessed such criminality under the occupation of the British, India, or Myanmar, it asserted.
It also accused Yung Aung of committing one of the “gravest betrayals” by sending a five-member Cease-fire Committee to meet with the Myanmar Government, but allegedly orchestrating their imprisonment in Myanmar jails.
Exposing his “gangster nature and vendetta,” the cease-fire committee members were unconstitutionally expelled without the approval of the Tatar Hoho, it added.
Yung Aung was further accused of using “false prophets and soothsayers to wield power as Chairman, with his cousin brother Chowansing as a living witness.”
The Ang Mai-led NSCN (K), thus, stated that Yung Aung's primitive mission was “to take the Eastern Nagas backward and advocate isolationism,” while it is “tirelessly trying to bring the light of hope and modernisation.”
It further claimed that Yung Aung's “family and puppets” are enjoying the protection of Indian security forces in the Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, and he has “driven out all Naga leaders from the west, playing right into India's ‘divide and rule’ strategy.”
However, the Ang Mai-led NSCN (K) stated that it remains resolute in its commitment to protecting the unity of the Nagas everywhere.
Meanwhile, it further accused Yung Aung of a “brazen attack on the GHQ, where all national records dating back to the era of the late Chairman SS Khaplang, the late Chairman Isak Chishi Swu, and General Secretary Th Muivah are kept,” terming it one of the darkest days in Naga history.
According to the Ang Mai-led NSCN (K), his “desperate attempt to erase the sacred records of our struggle is a crime against the Naga people, far worse than any terrorist organisation in the world.”
Asserting that the Nagas are fully aware of Yung Aung’s “vile motives,” the NSCN/GPRN, under the leadership of Chairman Maj Gen (Rtd) Ang Mai, Vice President Nyeiton Konyak, and General Secretary Kughalu Mulatonu, called upon the people to recognise “this anti-Naga virus before it’s too late.”
He is leading the Nagas down a path of destruction, with no real goal in sight, it added.
The Ang Mai-led NSCN (K) further stated it is determined to resolve all misunderstandings with India and Myanmar through peaceful means, under a peace umbrella where all can coexist.
However, it asserted that the unity and survival of the Naga people are non-negotiable, and it would “not tolerate any force that threatens it.”
