Angami Baptist Pastors and Deacons org attain 50 years

Sechü Zubza, January 14 (MExN): The Angami Baptist Pastor Dikon Krotho (ABPDK- Pastors and Deacons Organisation) golden jubilee celebration commenced on January 13 at Sechü Zubza, 15 km away from the State capital.   Hundreds of pastors and deacons from all the Baptist churches under the Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC) are attending the three-day celebration held at the amphitheatre of Shalom Bible Seminary with Sechü Zubza Baptist Church as the host.  

Marking the commencement of the jubilee celebration, the ABPDK 50 year’s monolith was unveiled by Rev Tsolie Chase, pastor, Baptist Church Khonoma, followed by the lighting of the jubilee torch by Sakralie Rio, pastor, Tsiemekhuma Baptist Church and inauguration of the jubilee conference hall by Rev Viwelie Khezhie, former pastor, Khedi Baptist Church.  

A drill display was presented by the child evangelism department of Sechü Zubza Baptist.  

The speaker for the inaugural worship service was Rev Dr V. Atsi Dolie, executive director of ABCC. Speaking on the theme, Rev Dolie challenged the pastors and deacons to take the responsibility to preach the gospel to the next generation. “It is the responsibility of the present generation to preach the gospel to the next generation. If we fail on our part, the coming generation will suffer,” he preached. “The Nagas should be grateful to the Americans for reaching us with the gospel. We are thankful to God, because in receiving Christianity, we have not followed any religion thereafter,” he said.  

The programme, chaired by Kevisezo Hibo, pastor, Khuzama Baptist Church, commenced with invocation pronounced by Pfusovi Metha, pastor, Teichü Basa BC. The welcome address was delivered by Khriengulie Kuotsu, pastor, Sechü zubza BC, while the ABPDK presidential address was delivered by Rev Rüdilhu Rio.  

Special songs were presented by Japfüphiki BPDK and men and women department of SZBC. The ABPDK golden jubilee magazine was also released by Rev Lhouzoviu Shüya, pastor Chakhroma BPDK.  

The speaker for the morning worship service will be Rev Keviyiekielie Linyü, pastor, Ebenezer Baptist Church Kohima. In the afternoon tomorrow, a programme has been arranged particularly for the youths. Various youth department from the churches under ABCC will be taking part in the said programme.
