Angami Sports Association felicitates Angami wrestlers

Kohima, March 22 (MExN): “To achieve something high, cannot be done overnight. Just as students study day and night to achieve good grades, so is the same with sportspersons,” said Chief Guest, Medozhalie Pienyü, Deputy Commandant General Homeguards & Civil Defence, Nagaland Kohima at the Wrestlers 2014 Felicitation program organized by the Angami Sports Association (ASA) on March 22 at The Heritage, Kohima. The program was chaired by Visaselie Suohu, General Secretary, ASA, while a prayer was invoked by Khrieneiu Metha, Pastor Peniel Church, Kohima. The welcome address was given by Neisievilie Lhousa, President, ASA, whereby he congratulated the wrestlers for bringing laurels to the association, while a report was given by the team Manager. Atoto Kire gave a speech on behalf of the wrestlers. A special number was presented by Neimenuo Soliezuo while the vote of thanks was pronounced by Athobu Meyase, Assistant General Secretary, ASA. Medozhalie Pienyü, while appreciating the Angami Wrestlers for their achievement also encouraged them to manage their time, maintain discipline, food and daily exercise. Quoting a Chinese Proverb, ‘Be good to the people you meet when you are going up because you will meet them when you come down,’ Pienyü exhorted them that success is shortlived and that all have to depend on each other and as players he urged them to play honestly and together build up the Naga society.
