DIMAPUR, JULY 20 (MExN): The All Nagaland Government College Teachers’ Association (ANGCTA), an affiliate of All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organization (AIFUCTO) along with the rest of colleges and Universities throughout the country observed a sit-in dharna on July 19 to register protest against the attack on the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) on the democratic system of education.
A press release issued by ANGCTA informed that AIFUCTO, which is the apex body of University and college teachers decided to wage a relentless struggle against the “Central government and their neo-liberal assault on education” as observed in the draft proposal of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) 2018, thereby profoundly destroying the democratic vision of education dreamt by the founding members of the Indian Constitution.
The Association said it will continue to support any follow up activities taken up in the near future by the AIFUCTO pertaining to this issue.
