ANGPTA appeals for early release of salary

DIMAPUR, MAY 13 (MExN): The All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers Association (ANGPTA) has appealed to the Nagaland Government to disburse the salaries of its employees at the right time.

A press release from the ANGPTA said that government employees, specifically the teachers’ families are solely depending on salary. “It has been more than 2 months that the government employees are not paid and now the government servants have no other option but to beg door to door for survival,” it said.

It noted that while the government has cautioned its employees about its ‘No work, no pay’ policy, in contrast government employees are being compelled to “go for ‘No pay no work’ if the two months salaries are not paid within few days.”

“It is heard that some section of the employees have been paid only one month salary but how much amount do we expect to take home, after deducting two months EMI from the bank,” the ANGPTA questioned.

“Coming across all the hardships for more than two months without salary, now, the government servants are much worried about the CIBIL score with the bank. Most of the government employees, especially the government school teachers depend upon bank loans to meet their needs,” it added.

The ANGPTA appealed to the government to do away with the system of delaying salary disbursement and pay in time, “so that the efficiency of work can be expected from the employees.”
