ANGPTA units cautions teachers against ‘unauthorised’ collection

Chümoukedima/Dimapur March 22 (MExN): The All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers’ Association (ANGPTA) units of Chümoukedima and Dimapur districts, in separate statements, has cautioned its members against paying membership fees to an unrecognised body identifying itself as the All Nagaland Adhoc Regularised Primary Teachers’ Forum (ANARPTF).

In a press release on March 20, the ANGPTA Chümoukedima district said it was “flabbergasted” to learn that the group was allegedly collecting membership fees under the banner of the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA).

The Chümoukedima unit further advised its bona fide members not to make any payment to such entities, maintaining that ANGPTA represents all primary teachers and is affiliated to the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) and recognised by the Directorate of School Education, Government of Nagaland.

Similarly, the ANGPTA Dimapur district, in a statement dated March 21, expressed concern over what it termed the “unauthorised proliferation” of the same forum. It reiterated that the ANARPTF is not recognised within the district and does not have any mandate from the teaching community.

The Dimapur unit also stated that ANGPTA is an independent service association for primary teachers under the Department of School Education, Nagaland, formed on June 6, 2016, by representatives from across districts.

The ANGPTA bifurcated from ANSTA on 6th June, 2016 is the sole legitimate representation of the Primary Teacher’s in Nagaland, it noted.

Further, it alleged that any collection of funds by the ANARPTF under the name of ANSTA is “unauthorised and fraudulent,” and advised teachers not to make payments towards such membership fees.
Both district units reiterated that the ANARPTF is not affiliated with ANGPTA.
