Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): The uncertain swing over transfer of Mokokchung’s Deputy Commissioner today breached a new level with the Ao Senden asking the Governor of Nagaland to apologize over remarks made over the issue.
A representative team of the Ao Senden had met with the Governor on August 29, the Ao Senden informed. He is quoted to have told the team that “I take any officer that is provided by the state; the matter is with the government and not immediately within my purview” stated a Senden letter to the Governor. The Governor is also quoted to have said “he (DC Abhishek Singh) can only be retained till election.”
The Senden then observed that the Governor later instructed his officials to maintain status quo of the transfer order. “It is thus utterly shocking that two messages in complete contradiction to each other have come from one and the same mouth; are you trying to lie or who misleads us?” the Senden queried of the Governor. The Hoho explained that the people of Mokokchung do not want any thing unconstitutional nor do they seek any special favor from the Governor. “But we are anguished over the blatant lies and cheap remarks we are awarded; is it not the height of undermining the people of Mokokchung and an insult to the sacred office you are occupying?” the Senden queried again.
In view of this, the Hoho stated that it is left with no option but to “regretfully and painfully” write (this letter) demanding a sincere apology “from your revered office” or “your honorable government.”
