Dimapur, December 18 (MExN): The executives and elders of Achumi Kuposhukulu observed their Annual Prayer Day on December 15 hosted by the outgoing president, Shikuto Achumi, retired Jt. Director of Social Welfare Department at Naharbari, Dimapur. Vika Achumi, retired DIG, Nagaland Police has taken over as the new president of the team, informed a press release. At the programme, invocation prayer was said by Tokhuli, blessing the clan was said by Rev. Heikhu Achumi, while anointing the outgoing and the new president was done by Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, Executive Secretary, WSBAK. Dr. Luhevi Achumi, who was recently conferred a doctorate in social work, exhorted the gathering, while Viheshe Achumi, retired Jt. Director of Industries emphasized on unity and brotherhood among the clan and Sumis in general. Pukaxu Achumi, Mghato Achumi and Izhexu Achumi elaborated on the second edition of Achumi migration and descendants’ magazine. Ghoheje Achumi chaired the programme and Kiyevi Achumi read out the annual report. Khevishe Achumi, Vice President, Western Sumi Hoho in his vote of thanks thanked God that the clan is witnessing many promising upcoming leaders and intellectuals to lead the community and the Nagas.
