Dimapur, October 20 (MExN): Balijan Hindi English School under Bokajan Sub- division, Karbi Anglong (Assam) began its annual sports meet under the motto “let’s bring Laurels under team spirit discipline and leadership” on October 20 in its school playground. The event was Kicked off when Asst. Teacher Mr. Rama Shankar Pandey unfurl the flag and addressing key note to the students.
He said to the students “game and sports is playing a vital role in the modern world as it keeps our body physically fit and mentally sound. It’s not give recreation to our body, mind and soul but also gain fame to the society as individual and nation as a general.
“Each one must play game with firm determination, disciple and hard work through leadership and enjoy the benefit of good health”, he said.
Games and sports help the formation of Character by teaching the virtue of discipline. Success in game requires the players to co-operate with one another and look to the interest of the team as a whole, and not to their personal glory, he said. Earlier the students were divided to three houses- Balsam, Daffodil and Daisy. The sport meet will conclude on 22nd October.
