Annual Süngkotenem Angling Festival underway

The annual Süngkotenem Angling Festival got underway at Mopungchuket village today organized by MALT in association with Mopungchuket Community Tourism Society.

The inaugural day of the weeklong angling fest was marked as the Competition Day where 68 anglers participated.

 
Moasemba from Mopungchuket, S.Opang from Chuchuyimpang and Sashikumba from Mopungchuket were adjudged the winner, runner-up and second runner-up of the biggest catch competition respectively. The angling fest will continue till Saturday, August 17 and the Season’s Biggest Catch Award is still up for grabs. 

The biggest catch on record at the premier annual Süngkotenem Angling Festival is held by Taliyanger of Chuchuyimpang village who caught a carp weighing 6.10 kgs during the 2015 edition.
