Kohima, November 18 (MExN): A ten-day annual training camp conducted by 1 Nagaland (G) Bn NCC under the aegis of NCC Group HQ, Kohima at St Joseph College, Jakhama ended on November 17.
A total of 293 Girl Cadets along with Associate NCC Officers from all districts of Nagaland attended the annual camp. During the camp, the main emphasis was on all round development of NCC Cadets personality including imparting military training on subjects like physical training, drill, weapon training, informed a press release here. Other subjects of social importance included national integration, motivation, career planning, general health and hygiene.
To mark the occasion of termination of the camp, the NCC Cadets also organized a cultural programme. Col Debaraj Bhattacharya Comdt 3 (Naga Hill) Assam Rifle was the Chief Guest and Rev Dr Sebastian Ousepparampil, Principal St Joseph’s College, Jakhama was the guest of honour.
Prizes in various categories and competitions in sports, tent pitching, firing, map reading, drill and cultural items were given to the Cadets. Col Rajeev Kumar, Camp Commandant, Annual Training Camp informed that lectures by eminent personalities on subjects of social importance like HIV/AIDs, drug abuse, vector borne diseases, disaster management, health and hygiene were included in the training curriculum.
A weapon display and career counselling by 164 Naga TA Bn & 3 (NH) Assam Rifles Bn was also organised during the camp for the NCC Girl Cadets.
