ANPBU apology to Naga pol groups

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 21 (MExN): The All Nagaland Private Bus Union (ANPBU) has tendered unconditional apology to the Naga political groups for an earlier press statement issued by the union’s president, highlighting the tax imposed on bus operators. ANPBU vice president Ahoto Awomi and general secretary Hovishe Achumi in a press statement said that the earlier statement highlighting taxes imposed by various Naga political groups, was issued by the union’s president without consulting other ANPBU office bearers and members.

“Whatever problem or grievances, the union should have approach the concerned groups or parties first for proper redressal before going to the media,” ANPBU said. The union informed that during an emergency meeting of ANPBU held Wednesday last, the members had cautioned their president for his unilateral action in going to the media without consulting other ANPBU office bearers.

The president also apologized for his “hasty and unilateral action,” ANPBU added.  The union further said that it was always ready to extend moral support and contribute in whatever manner to the noble cause for which the Naga groups were fighting for. The union has, in the meantime, appealed the various Naga groups to alleviate the plight of the bus operators by making concession in certain areas and exempting some collections done on daily basis.
