ANPSA conducts elocution competition

Dimapur, June 11 (MExN): With a wide range of topics ranging from Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘where the mind is without fear,’ to Mother Teresa’s Nobel Prize speech, an elocution competition held in Dimapur today brought out the best of students from private schools. Exuberating confidence and   poise, 20 students from different schools took part in the NIIT sponsored, All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Dimapur Unit elocution cum seminar presentation at Christ Hall of Holy Cross School. The panel of judges included Noel Manuel, Director of Dimension and Preeti, Headmistress of Hollotoli School.
The students’ were judged on five points that included dress code, content of piece, diction, flow of thought, gesture and expression. The students displayed no fear on taking the stage and most of them were thoroughly prepared with their piece. Students from Holy Cross School, Christian Higher Secondary School, Greenwood Higher Secondary School, Livingstone Higher Secondary School, Great Commission Kids Academy, Little Star Higher Secondary School, Calvary Mission School, Hiland Hall School, Unity Christian Higher Secondary School, Hebron Higher Secondary School, St. John Higher Secondary School and Unity Christian Higher Secondary School took part in the competition.  
Salomika Swu of Livingstone Higher Secondary School won the elocution competition under group A. John of Great Commission Kids Academy stood second, while Nizatoli of Little Star Higher Secondary School stood third. Under group B, Vunthugo L Murry of Livingstone Higher Secondary School stood first, while the second and third positions were attained by Erenbeni of Holy Cross School and Rovokhono Savino of Greenwood Higher Secondary School respectively.  A power point presentation competition was also held in which 8 students took part.
