All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA) Kohima unit today organized one day workshop for primary teachers here at Eastgate Hotel with SCERT joint director N.C. Kikon as special guest.
Kikon in her address said primary section is the most important stage for the education in one’s life.
She maintained that teachers play a vital role and responsible for shaping the students in the right way.
She reminded the gathering that to establish a strong foundation for the education depend on the teachers.
Kikon advised the teachers to acquire vast knowledge beyond the textbook or else the students would outsmart over them.
She encouraged the teachers to do little research of their past pupils and do whichever good for them to the present students.
Kolkata based Union Chapel School principal and Harper Collins India consultant Angela Ghosh in her address as resource a person on the topic “Pedagogical shift in the context of primary school teaching and ethics of a teacher” said teacher are dealing with the seed of the human education and termed them as gardener.
Encouraging on utilizing knowledge in practical life, she reminded the gathering that the students must able to apply in their practical life what they have learnt in the classroom.
Ghosh also reminded the gathering that teachers are the role model for the students and teachers must able to answers to the curios query of the students.
Resource person encouraged the teachers to make learning as fun, discover the gift of every child and learn to appreciate them in every little good things they did.
In the second session, Jo Foundation head teacher Naomi Ltu spoke on the topic “Teaching children with special needs.”
The programme was chaired by Kaikhu Achumi information secretary ANPSA Kohima unit while welcome address was delivered by ANPSA Kohima president P.J. Nathan.
Vote of thanks was proposed by ANPSA Kohima unit assistant general secretary Hommiza Mimi Raman.
