ANPSTA alleges govt over teachers' appointment issue

Dimapur, August 24 (MExN): The Pre-Service Teachers’ Education (PSTE) trained personnel of Phek district has alleged the government for appointing teachers without an open advertisement and interview.

The ANPSTA Phek Unit in a note addressed to the Commissioner & Secretary of Department of School Education and Ex-Officio Directorate of School Education, issued by its President Huveku Keyho and General Secretary Rukuwe Wetsa stated that it is grateful to the government for sanctioning of new teacher’s posts in the district for single teacher schools and GPS upgraded to Middle schools under SSA. However it is discouraging to see that the government has appointed teachers against the sanctioned post without open advertisement and without any interview.

“…we strongly opposed the steps taken by the government in appointing of teacher’s without any regards to the commitment given to the PSTE personal by the govt. which is totally against the NCTE norms. We therefore, request you to kindly cancel all such appointment made by the govt. under SSA at the earliest and conduct open interview for the interest and welfare of the unprivileged individuals in the society,” it said.  Moreover, the ANPSTA Phek Unit will take its own course of action if the authority fails to “initiate action within 10 days from the date of publishing this letter”.
