ANPTA demands ‘fair means of exams’

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): The All Nagaland Pre-Service Teachers Association (ANPTA) has demanded that the School Education Department conduct ‘fair means of exams.’

In a representation to the department, the association’s President, Khriekuo Miario and General Secretary, Botika A Sumi stated that the “unethical means practiced by the department is what deprives a plethora of trained teachers from obtaining our rights to employment time and again.”

It also stated that several requests for conduct of “fair means of exam etc was anticipated without heed given or to deaf ears.”

It meanwhile said that “uncertainty to create emotional propaganda is uncalled for,” and resolved to “take every step deemed legal/liable if the department doesn't fulfill our demands.”

It demanded that the department issue advertisements for the existing vacant posts of primary teachers and appoint B.Ed and D.El.Ed trainees in their own respective fields i.e. B.Ed/GT & D.El.Ed/PT.

The association also demanded that the department revoke the interview criteria under Grade-C category for teachers which are not under the preview of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB). It also sought declaration of the minimum and maximum marks for viva for transparency, should the interview system be continued.
