Imphal/ SENAPATI, December 21(NNN): The offices of the All Naga Students’ Association Manipur (ANSAM) and All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) have expressed shock and sadness over the unfortunate bus accident in Longsai Tubung village under Khoupum subdivision in Noney district on December 21, leading to many causalities as well as injuries.
Reports said that the bus was carrying 47 persons, including students and staff of Thambalnu Higher Secondary School, Yairipok Top Chingtha, Thoubal district of Manipur were travelling to Khoupum in Noney district on an annual study tour.
Extending its deepest sympathy with an unwavering support and pray for the peace to the departed souls, the ANSAM expressed its "our heartfelt condolences" to those families who lost their loved ones in this accident and wished the injured students a speedy recovery.
The association then thanked everyone who had extended their helping hands to the victim.
Meanwhile, ATSUM said that it was "dejected" with the tragedy and said that it "joins in sharing and grief of bereaved families, friends, teachers and school management".
"May Almighty God bestow comfort and solace to bereaved families, and may the departed students find eternal peace in heavenly abode,” the apex tribal student body of Manipur stated in a condolence message, further praying for the speedy recovery of those injured.
