ANSTA to join pen-down strike from October 14

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 9 (MExN): The All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) has issued an emergency circular directing all teachers across the state to participate in the three-day Pen-Down Strike from October 14 to 16, as called by the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA).

In its circular, ANSTA informed all district units, teachers’ groups, and members that the directive from CANSSEA, the apex body of government employees in Nagaland, must be observed “strictly.” The association stated that the strike is being held in protest against “the non-fulfillment of the demand for withdrawal of Non-NPSC candidates from the Select List of Non-SCS Officers for induction into the IAS held on 25th September 2025,” and “the non-restoration of the Vacancy Circular dated 10th March 2025, which is crucial to ensure transparency and uphold merit in future selections of Non-SCS officers for IAS induction.”

“In solidarity with the collective stand of CANSSEA, and as an affiliated body under its umbrella, ANSTA hereby directs all teachers across the state to strictly comply with the Pen-Down Strike for the above-mentioned period,” the circular stated.

All teaching and non-teaching members have been instructed to refrain from performing any official duties during the strike period “as a mark of protest,” while maintaining “discipline and decorum throughout.” The association further directed all district units and teachers’ groups to ensure effective implementation of the directive within their respective jurisdictions and report compliance to the ANSTA headquarters.
