ANSTEI sports meet concludes

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 13 (DIPR): “The importance of sports cannot be denied, and Nagas are second to none,” said Linda Solo speaking as the chief guest at the Valedictory programme of the All Nagaland Secondary Teacher Education Institution (ANSTEI) Sports Meet, 2017 which culminated on October 13. The events were held at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.  

The Director, Youth Resources and Sports, Linda Solo in her speech encouraged those interested in sports to take the same up as avenues are now opened, and is progressing both at the national and international level. Many sports personnel have made great impact at various levels, and have even been recommended to government jobs, she added, encouraging them to follow their dreams. Reiterating her department’s support for promotion of the same, she congratulated and thanked the State Council of Teacher’s Education for organizing the event.  

The All Nagaland Secondary Teacher Education Institution Sports Meet, 2017 which began on October 12 witnessed participation from 8 colleges of teacher’s education. Various events including badminton, football, volleyball, race and table tennis were played during the two days sports meet.  

Unity College of Teacher’s Education, Dimapur emerged as the overall champion of the grand event organized by State College of Teacher’s Education, and sponsored by Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiya (RUSA), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
