
Dimapur, April 12 (MExN): The All Nagaland Small Tea Growers’ Association (ANSTGA) led by its president, Shami Angh and other office bearers attended the National Executive Committee Meeting hosted by Confederation of Indian Small Tea Growers’ Association (CISTA at Umsing, Meghalaya on April 8.
ANSTGA president, Shami Angh stated in a press release that the need for cultivating organic tea and conducting more workshops on organic tea cultivation were thoroughly addressed and discussed. The team from Nagaland also expressed that there is sufficient and fertile land ideal for organic tea farming.
The secretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India also attended the meeting. The secretary assured that sufficient fund will be sanctioned to the tea growers in the near future and for which individual tea growers are encouraged to register themselves under their respective state tea growers association and further avail the central fund for more growth and productivity in their tea farming.
Several agenda and steps taken by the CISTA both in the state and national level were also highlighted in the meeting.
