ANSU demands to cancel contract system NST bus in Peren

Peren: The All Nchangram Students’ Union (ANSU) has made a demand to the General Manager of Nagaland State Transport for “Cancelation of contract system NST bus in Peren district.”

The demands have been made basing on the outcome of the meeting held between the departmental officials and the Union office bearers on March 31, 2014 at General Manager's office, Dimapur.

ANSU president Dithuibo Newmai, general secretary Plamdibo Nchang and vice president Dunwibo Newmai jointly stated in the letter addressed to the NST GM that the present contract system of Nagaland State Transport bus service to Peren District and particularly to Tening sub-division be immediately cancelled, since the same system fail to maintain satisfactory service to the public of the area. The Union also stated that the present bus service on the alternate day system be made daily service with new bus considering the size, its population and road condition of the area.

The Union has placed the demands to authority concerned for necessary action within two months time, so that the department is exculpated from the public of the area.

“It is our apprehension that if the demands are not met by the department within the stipulated time, the union/general public may undertake any course of action for which the department will solely be responsible,” the Union said.
