ANTA Wokha mandates strict vehicle compliance for taxis

Wokha, June 23 (MExN): To ensure public safety and maintain high service standards, all taxi owners under All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Wokha Unit have been directed to keep vehicle documents up to date. It directed to ensure valid registration certificate (RC), insurance, pollution under control (PUC) certificate, and fitness certificate are always current, carry original or digital copies of all required documents during operations and renew documents promptly before expiry to avoid penalties or suspension.

In order to maintain vehicles in good condition, ANTA Wokha Unit directed to conduct regular maintenance checks on brakes, tires, lights, horn, wipers, and other critical components; ensure vehicles are clean, both internally and externally, for passenger comfort. Address any mechanical or safety issues immediately to prevent accidents or breakdowns; and equip vehicles with functional safety features like seat belts, fire extinguishers, and first-aid kits.

It also directed the taxi owners to cooperate with authorities during inspections to verify documents and vehicle condition. “Non-compliance may result in fines, vehicle impoundment, or license suspension,” it cautioned.

Taxi owners have been urged to prioritize passenger safety and uphold the unit’s motto ‘Service to the public.’
