Dimapur, February 10 (MExN): The All Naga Tribes Council of Nagaland (ANTCN) in its executive body meeting held on February 9 at its Treasurer's residence in Dimapur deliberated the issue pertaining to prevalent crisis in Nagaland. ANTCN, President Vitohe and General Secretary, P Thong in a press release stated that the meeting held a threadbare discussion on the prevailing situation confronting the Nagas and the Government. ANTCN felt that the Nagas or the public cannot suffer any longer or afford to lost more lives. Therefore, it appealed the State Government to start functioning of the Secretariat office immediately to enable the general public to avail the services and “if the particular group or district protest endlessly, the State Government is appealed to temporarily shift the Secretariat to any convenient district.”
The house unanimously resolved and reaffirmed its opposition to 33% women reservation and ULB election till the Nagaland Municipal Act 2001 is reviewed and added that ANTCN shall uphold and protect “our customs, traditions and culture.”
