Mon, December 1 (MExN): The Assam Rifles in collaboration with Kripa Foundation and Hikali Achumi, Miss Nagaland 2022 conducted the anti-drug campaign at council hall, Mon town on November 28. A total of 900 participants including 700 students and 15 civil dignitaries from Mon town along with 120 representative of local civil society attended the event, stated a press release issued by HQ IGRN (N).

The chief guest for the occasion, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) Major General Vikas Lakhera Sena Medal highlighted the role of Assam Rifles in prevention of drug menace in the border areas. He highlighted the multiple activities under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and underlined the importance of close cooperation between communities and various agencies fighting against this menace. 

Miss Nagaland Hikali Achumi also spoke during the event. The event also included Anti-Drug Movie,  dance performance by Mon Women’s Organisation, musical performances by Wangai Band from Wankhao college, Alive Band from Mon followed by performance by Assam Rifles Jazz Band. 

Dr Naukyat Y Arolim of Addiction Treatment Facility of Mon district Hospital also addressed the audience on drug awareness. The event ended with an oath taking on anti-drug by all the attendees.
