Anti-Ragging Awareness Day at Immauel College

Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): ‘Anti-Ragging Awareness Day’ was observed at Immanuel College, organized by the Anti-Ragging Committee on June 15 at the college auditorium.  

The objective of the programme was to create awareness among the students about ragging, according to a press release from the college Media Cell convener, Akutu Poireng.   Loli Athisü, Dean of Students, Immanuel College, who was the speaker, began his speech with an introduction on ragging to make the students understand what it actually is.  

Ragging in any form is a punishable offence under the law passed by the Supreme Court and supported by the UGC, he stated.  

He further dwelled on the impacts of ragging on the victim, how it can leave a permanent scar on their mind or sometimes even ruin their career, the release said.
