Nagaland School Education & SCERT Advisor, KT Sukhalu today proposed that any new school to be opened should have sufficient land to accommodate toilet facilities, drinking water and playground.

Sukhalu informed that he is going to raise this matter at the meeting of the State Level Education Committee (SLEC) soon.
The advisor said the SLEC headed by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio use to get a lot of applications for opening of new private schools as well as upgradation of government schools.
Meanwhile, he called upon the teachers to take advantage of Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar to educate the school children to develop the habit of cleanliness.
“We need to educate our society. We need to educate our community,” he said.
In the form of suggestion, Sukhalu also urged the Principal Director of School Education to assign the official in the fields to inspect the schools not only on academic aspect but on hygienic condition of the school as well.
“We will ensure that atleast the children get the proper attention in both education as well as in health care,” he said.
