Ao Senden asks for resignation of 11 Ao MLAs

MOKOKCHUNG, FEBRUARY 2 (MExN): The Ao Senden today asked the 11 Ao MLAs to “immediately resign” and “come join in the resolution” of the Ao Senden.  A press release from Acting President C Anang Jamir and Acting Secretary L Tally Lkr today stated that the Ao community has stood against the Nagaland Municipal and Town Council Act for more than a decade as it is “against the socio-customary laws and traditions of the Aos and the Nagas.” As the issue continues “over the dead body,” the Ao Senden stated that the Ao legislators are “in contravention of the Ao customary rights and against the resolution of the Ao Senden” to still be seated in the Assembly.
