Ao Senden denounces 'mud' repair of NH-61 stretch

Mokokchung, November 21 (MExN): The Ao Senden has strongly condemned the use of mud for repairing potholes on the VK Town to Doyang stretch of National Highway (61), calling it the “dirtiest trick” and “most insulting action.”

“This is the dirtiest trick and the most insulting action that the Department of PWD (National Highway) can play and heap upon the Ao Senden for serving an ultimatum to do repair works,” asserted the Ao Senden.

Accordingly, it stated that if the repair works are not carried out in earnest and in a technically feasible manner within the remaining period to complete the 30-day ultimatum served earlier, it would take its own course of action.

“We will carry out our own course of action as we deem fit and proper, and we will not be responsible for any untoward consequences that may arise,” the Ao Senden stated in a representation to the Deputy Chief Minister & Minister for Planning & Transformation, TR Zeliang, and the PWD authorities.

It further requested the Deputy CM to look into the matter and carry out the necessary repair works, as befitting a responsible government department for the welfare of the people.

“We are hoping that your dynamic leadership will ensure timely and proper action for the benefit of all concerned,” added the Ao Senden representation, signed by its President Marsanen Imsong and General Secretary Imtipokyim.

The representation was also forwarded to all legislators from Mokokchung District, as well as the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and the Executive Engineer, PWD (NH) of Mokokchung.

Earlier on November 4, the Ao Senden issued a 30-day deadline ultimatum to the Government of Nagaland, demanding immediate repairs to the deteriorating VK Town-Doyang stretch of NH 61.
