DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 5 (MExN): The Ao Senden, the apex tribal body of the Aos has noted with deep concern the declaration of the NSCN (IM) terming Dr SC Jamir, Governor of Goa and Alemtemshi Jamir, IAS, Principal Secretary Government of Nagaland as anti-people and anti-national. The Ao Senden resolved that the authority to bar any original citizen from entry into one’s own soil for whatever justifications rests customarily with the community alone. It also resolved that no individual should be held accountable for the book whose authorships has been officially owned up by the concern party ‘as closed chapter’. “However, the Ao Senden regrets for the damage that has been caused by the publication of the said booklet”, stated its President Temjenkaba and General Secretary Temjen Paul.
Further, the Ao Senden felt that the stand of the NSCN (IM) to ‘strictly monitor’ any endeavor by any one towards appeasement to the present issue was detrimental to any democratic norms.
The Ao Senden therefore has appealed to the NSCN (IM) government to reconsider the declarations and revoke the order in the larger interest of the people.
Mao unions urge NSCN (IM)
The Mao Union Kohima held an emergency meeting on October 3 and resolved to urge the NSCN (IM) to revoke the ‘Azha’ issued on Dr SC Jamir and Alemtemshi Jamir pointing out that such declaration will not help solve the Naga problem and instead will create misunderstanding among the Nagas. The Mao Union therefore appealed to the NSCN (IM) to revoke the declaration in the larger interest of the Naga society and in order to maintain peace and tranquility.
