Ao Senden on alleged ‘Register-vote-here-or-leave’ diktat

Mokokchung, October 13 (MExN): The Ao Senden, the apex social body of the Ao community, today cautioned against undertaking the alleged ‘Register-vote-here-or-leave’ diktat to non-domicile residents within its jurisdiction. If any organisation or union is adopting such tactics, it should be stopped, the Ao Senden stated a press release from its President Chubawati Longchar and General Secretary, Imtipokyim. The alleged ditkat to non-domicile residents, living in parts of Mokokchung town, surfaced after the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union Mokokchung (ENPUM) recently wrote to the Ao Senden over the issue.  As per the letter, dated October 4, deadline were served to families hailing from Eastern Nagaland and presently living in the Mokokchung town area, to transfer votes from their place of origin to the current place of residence by October 5. However, the identity those issuing the same was not specified.
