Ao Senden resolves to address Facebook post matter as per Ao custom

Mokokchung, December 10 (MExN): Deeming the Facebook post by the “Patriotic Nagas” group a “transgressive” act, the Ao Senden has resolved to take the matter to its “logical conclusion” as per Ao Naga customs, usage, and tradition with the perpetrator(s) at its headquarters in Mokokchung.

“This Facebook post is a transgressive act against Ao Naga traditional values, which insulted the Ao Naga community to the core,” it added, justifying the declaration.

“The post insulted the Ao Naga community, defamed Dr. SC Jamir, and outraged the modesty of Ao women,” it further stated.

Adopting a resolution regarding the matter during its executive meeting on December 9, the Ao Senden also cautioned any Ao individual or group against “making any move, by word or deed, against the decision of the Ao Senden” on the issue.

“Such an individual or group will be punished befittingly as per Ao Naga customs, usage, and tradition at Ao Senden Kilem,” it added.

Meanwhile, the Ao Senden conveyed its gratitude to the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan; Director General of Police, Rupin Sharma; and his subordinate officers of the Nagaland Police for arresting the person allegedly responsible for the offensive Facebook post.
