The Ao Senden on Tuesday in its executive meeting held at its Conference Hall resolved to pressurize the concerned authorities to bring to book at the earliest the culprits responsible for the assassination of late Imtishilu of Settsu village on March 20 last. It was further resolved that the Ao Senden shall not compromise unless and until the killers are arrested and prosecuted as per the law of the land.
The meeting was also attended by council representatives of the Ao villages bordering Assam. Historical records and relevant documents for factual proof were submitted by the representatives, which the Ao Senden will compile and process to the competent authorities for further necessary action. The Ao Senden will undertake the subsequent procedure before the 30th of March next, it was resolved.
On being asked to give a comment on the current re-adjustment of assembly constituencies imbroglio, the Ao Senden representatives told this correspondent that minor readjustments are being felt necessary and declared that the house has in principle agreed that all the 15 wards under Mokokchung municipality be incorporated into the 27 Mokokchung Urban A/C . It may be mentioned that only four wards of the fifteen comprise the said constituency currently.
