A new e-commerce platform named ‘Aonsotsu’ was officially launched today, September 2, in Mokokchung. The platform, available as both a website and an app, provides an ultra-fast, one-day delivery service for groceries and essential commodities within Mokokchung Town.
The launch event was held at Urban Hub Café, Mokokchung, and was graced by Imkongchuba, Chairman of the Mokokchung Municipal Council, who officially inaugurated the platform. The name ‘Aonsotsu’, which translates to cooking items or vegetables in the Ao dialect, reflects the platform’s focus on providing essential goods to the local community.
The founder of ‘Aonsotsu’, 32-year-old Tzuwasanen, expressed his vision for the platform during his speech at the event. He emphasized the necessity of having a dedicated e-commerce service in Mokokchung, especially in an era where digital solutions are becoming increasingly integral to daily life.
With an aim to cater specifically to the residents of Mokokchung and, more broadly, to the people of Nagaland, Tzuwasanen pointed out that not everyone has the time or means to visit the market for essential items. The service currently offers over 50 commodities, with plans to expand the inventory in the near future. Initially, the delivery services will be available only to residents of Mokokchung’s 18 wards, with future plans to extend to other districts.
Tzuwasanen also announced the plan to incorporate organic vegetables into the platform’s inventory, in alignment with their seasonal availability. This initiative aims to support local farmers by providing them with a direct link to consumers. Furthermore, he expressed a commitment to creating employment opportunities for local, unemployed youth, encouraging them to explore entrepreneurial ventures rather than relying solely on government jobs. Tzuwasanen said he’s also open to collaborating with others interested in selling locally made products through the platform.
Currently, the ‘Aonsotsu’ app is available for Android users via the Google Play Store, while users of other platforms can access the service through the website, Aonsotsu.com. The launch event began with a dedicatory prayer led by Yanglu Pongen, Associate Pastor of MTBA.
