APHEN President Er L Leyang Khiamniungan addresses the 6th General Conference of the Association of Public Health Engineers, Nagaland at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima on May 31.

Chümoukedima, June 1 (MExN): The 6th General Conference of the Association of Public Health Engineers, Nagaland (APHEN), held on May 31 at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima, resolved to uphold the principles and objectives of the association and ensure the welfare of the department and the public.
Inaugurating the conference, APHEN President Er L Leyang Khiamniungan emphasised the crucial role of public health engineers in ensuring sustainable, safe, and adequate drinking water and promoting hygienic well-being in alignment with the vision statement of PHED.
Highlighting the department's current transitional phase, he called for mutual understanding, unity, trust, and coordination among officers to foster a cohesive departmental environment.
Additionally, Er Khiamniungan discussed the hierarchical structure and future expansion plans, including the creation of new posts, while urging members to remain dedicated and sincere amidst the department's many challenges to continue facilitating public service.
He also expressed appreciation to members for their dedication and support towards the engineering fraternity by attending the general conference.
Meanwhile, Er Vikeduolie, an Executive Member of APHEN, shared the genesis of the Association. He also encouraged unity among members and reaffirmed confidence in the new office bearers to uphold the association's values and address departmental issues.
The function also observed a moment of silence in remembrance of members who have passed away.
During the conference, new office bearers for 2024-27 were elected: Er Kedolhuto Pienyu as President; Er Ichirang Zeliang as Vice President; Er Wonjanbeni Odyuo as General Secretary; Er L Nokfho K. as Joint Secretary; and Er Neilhoukholie as Treasurer.
