Aphuyemi FC jersey launched

Roko Angami, Officer on Special Duty (Sports), DYRS, and former international footballer and futsal coach launched the jersey of Aphuyemi Football Club on July 30.

DIMAPUR, JULY 30 (MExN): Roko Angami, Officer on Special Duty (Sports), Department of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS), and former international footballer and futsal coach, on Wednesday launched the jersey of Aphuyemi Football Club.

Congratulating the club for emerging champions of the Nagaland Futsal Championship, Roko lauded Aphuyemi FC for qualifying to represent the state at the National Futsal Championship, scheduled to be held from August 3 to 18 in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand.

Noting that several internationally renowned footballers began their careers through futsal, Roko said the club’s participation in the national championship could open more opportunities for players.

Wishing the team success, he encouraged the players to give their best and bring glory to the state.

He further acknowledged the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio, saying that football in Nagaland has been growing rapidly under his guidance. 

Roko also commended the state government for developing futsal infrastructure across district headquarters, including the construction of 28 futsal turfs so far, and for prioritising sports development in the state.
