APO condemns life attempt

Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): The Angami Public Organisation (APO) today strongly and out rightly condemned the life attempt made on one student leader by an NSCN (K) cadre on August 16 in Kohima and observed that such feelings of ill-will tageted against the Angami tribe is a threat to all Angamis.

The APO President Mhiesizokho Zinyu and Press Secretary, Kekhriengulie Linyu, condemned the life attempt on former ASU President Medo Yhokha and another Angami youth leader, Neiketouzo by ‘one NSCN (K) cadre, Sgt Maj Yehokhu Sema with communal remarks’. 

“Such ill-will and ill-feeling targeting against the Angami tribe is a threat to all Angamis,” said the APO, “Such communal ill-feeling and total disregard against a particular tribe is uncalled for.” 

The APO said that such dastardly and inhuman act on the lives of innocent citizens is abominable and therefore called for condemnation by all sensible people.  

The APO recalled that the Angamis have borne the burnt of the fury of the various factions and that many Angami leaders have been mercilessly eliminated in the past.  The APO, in this regard, said that had it not been for God’s protection, then the two Angami youth leaders would also have been eliminated on that day on August 16. 

The APO further, strongly opined that enough is enough and therefore said that all the Naga underground factions must shun violence and gun culture saying that it only generates enmity among the people.
