Kohima, January 5: Angami Public Organisation (APO) has vehemently condemned the barbaric killing and dumping of nine bodies at Khuprizana Valley (Pachaspura), including Harlongbi Engti Kathar, general secretary of Karbi Students’ Association, Bokajan area. The act is horrendously diabolical and totally devoid of humane conscience, stated a press release issued by APO general secretary Vipopal Kintso.
The APO earnestly solicited the investigating agencies of both Nagaland and Assam governments to fully co-operate and expedite getting to the bottom of it so the culprits are apprehended and befitting penalty is imparted as per the law of the land.
Further, APO appealed to the Rengma and Karbi People, be it the public organisations or armed groups to be led by the policy of “open dialogue and rational resolution of differences” keeping in mind the age-old relationship and co-existence, so as to avoid undue suspicions and misgivings which, it mentioned, may give room to elements with ulterior motives to take advantage.
APO also appealed to the government of both Assam and Nagaland, the civil societies, NGOs and all concerned to play active roles in diffusing the tensions and work towards resolving the conflict which has inflicted much sufferings and loss of innocent lives.
