UIN number for the National Data of Arms License (NDAL)
In compliance to the orders of the Deputy Commissioners of Nagaland, almost all the gun license holders had submitted their licenses to the respective DC’s Offices before 31.03.2016 for onward transmission of the particulars to the Home Ministry, Delhi for generation of the UIN numbers for the National Data of Arms License (NDAL). It is learnt that many have already received the UIN numbers allotted by the Home Ministry from their respective DC’s Offices months ago. It is also learnt that the UIN numbers have been downloaded online from the Home Ministry’s website.
In this connection, we would like to request the DC’s to let the Naga public know through the local media why the rest of us are not receiving the UIN numbers or when we will receive them or what else we have to do as we already have produced and got our licenses verified by your offices in time. If it is due to the failure of your offices to download or generate the UIN numbers allotted by the Home Ministry before its website was closed, it will be only right and proper to immediately send officials from your office to Delhi and bring hard copies of the list of the UIN numbers for the licenses which were verified by your offices.
As we have been warned that licenses without the UIN numbers after 31.03.2016 will be treated as cancelled or invalid, the situation can become very dangerous for those of us who are yet to receive the UIN numbers. In a place like Nagaland where draconian Laws and Acts like AFSPA and DAA etc are in operation, the Indian Army and Paramilitary forces can cause havoc to our lives for no fault of ours on account of these licenses.
