Appeal to participate in mass social work

Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Shanavas C has in a circular informed that in pursuance to the decision taken during the pre-monsoon preparedness meeting and further directive from the Chief Minister, there will be a mass social work in and around Phek Town, including government/ semi government/ private offices, on April 21 starting 7:00 am. All the ward chairmen and GBs have been directed to ensure participation of all residents and supervise the social work in their respective colonies.  

Meanwhile, the Churches Colony Council has informed all the residents as well as business establishments under Churches Colony, Dimapur to report for the social work on April 21 at 6:00 am outside the colony Goan Bura’s residence. Spade, brooms, machete etc are to be arranged by individuals, informed a press release from Council Secretary, Paul Vitsu. The Council members were informed to reach before time to monitor and take charge of the social work. “Strict penalties shall be imposed on those defaulters who fail to turn up,” it cautioned.  

In another circular, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung informed that the mass social work will be carried out in and around Mokokchung Town on April 21 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. The focal areas of the social work will be Sewak gate, hospital areal parking lot, MMC shopping complex, Police point, Old Town Hall Vegetable Market, Salangtem New Market. All ward chairmen and GBs will be responsible for supervising the social work in their own wards, it said, adding they may set their time as per their convenience. All head of offices will be responsible for cleaning up their own respective office premises. Truck/mini trucks and pickups requisitioned for the social work are to report at the DC office parking lot by 8:00 am. Attendance record of all officers/ staff is to be maintained and submitted to the DC, the circular read.
