Wokha, March 9 (DIPR): Witter Theological College, Vankhosung, Wokha celebrated International Women’s Day at the college campus on March 8 with APRO Bhandari, Lily Ngullie as the speaker.
Ngullie maintained that nations and world leaders have been working ambitiously to the committed effort of achieving a common ground and common future for women all over the world, a world where gender based violence, exploitation, injustice and discrimination against women will be ended.
The planet 50-50 by 2030, she apprised, is aimed for a world where every woman will be given due rights to live up to her potentials through personal endeavor and not be a liability but a co-contributor for all progress of humankind.
In response to the clarion call for progress, and to help build a better world for women across the globe, Ngullie urged for change and progress within the level of “our” homes, neighborhood and churches. She called on the theological community to live up to the responsibilities of telling the pristine truth as messengers of God that men and women are all created in the matchless image of God.
A short video on ‘Struggle and Achievements of Women- Then and Now’, directed and produced by Lozilo and Abilan was screened during the programme.
