April 21 social work to be implemented strictly

Tseminyu/Jakhama, April 18 (DIPR): Meetings were held in different places of Nagaland regarding the statewide social work scheduled to be held on April 21.  

Jakhama: An inter-department meeting was held at Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) office, Jakhama on April 18 to apprise the various departments and village councils under Jakhama sub-division of the social work scheduled for April 21. SDO Jakhama, Alemyapang Longchar requested all the departments and village councils to participate and co-operate in the social work. The meeting was attended by respective village council chairman, Gaon Bura, and various departments.  

Mon: Mon district head of offices held a meeting on April 18 at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, where SDO (C), Mon, Reny Wilfred (IAS) informed that the statewide mass social work will begin at 6:00 am on April 21. The house resolved to take attendance of all the employees in their respective department on the day which will be submitted to the District Administration.  

In a separate notification, the SDO (C), Mon informed all ward presidents/GBs and Liaison Officers to mobilize and inform their respective ward members to initiate social work especially for clearing of blocked drainages and cleaning of drainages as part of monsoon preparedness. Further, all ward presidents, ward committee members and GBs were directed to convene a ward meeting immediately and to use the vehicles already assigned for social work.  

The house also discussed the mega mock exercise, which is going to be held on April 26 in Mon Town.  

Tseminyu: ADC of Tseminyu, Theodore Yanthan called a coordination meeting at DB’s Customary Court, ADC office, Tseminyu on April 18, where matters regarding the proposed statewide mass social work on April 21 were discussed. Attended by GBs, public leaders, and departmental officers of Tseminyu HQ, the meeting resolved to conduct the mass social work in a very strict manner. The ADC instructed the town GBs to take proper attendance in their respective colonies/wards while conducting the social work. Further, it was decided that social work for the respective department office premises in Tseminyu Town will be held on April 20 so as to enable the departmental staffs to compulsorily participate in the mass social work on April 21.
