DIMAPUR, MARCH 3 (MExN): Personnel of 29 Assam Rifles and 142 CRPF Bn, on March 1, arrested two GPRN/NSCN cadres in the Chainejan area near Kulajan. A press note from the PRO to the Assam Rifles, Lt Col AS Chauhan identified the cadres as one Leacy Chumbemo Kikon and one Robema Yanthan of the GPRN/NSCN. One .22 Pistol with magazine, seven .22 mm live rounds and five 5.56 mm live rounds were recovered from the cadres. A case has been registered at Police Station Bhandari and the cadres along with the recoveries were handed over to the police.

In a separate operation, personnel of the 29 AR apprehended two individuals for illegal tax collection near Gholapati, “based on information of illegal tax collection by UG groups in the area.” A press note from the PRO informed that Rs 15,030 was recovered from the possession of the apprehended persons, whose identities were not disclosed. The apprehended persons, along with the recovered items, were handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur.
