Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): Medziphema Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) launched an operation along with a police representative based on specific information regarding presence of an illegal arms manufacturer in general area Sungratsu, Chumukedima, Dimapur on March 5.
Lt Col Amitabh Sharma, PRO, HQ IGAR (North) informed in a press release that during the operation, troops of Assam Rifles apprehended two arms fabricators along with huge quantity of weapons, ammunitions and manufacturing tools. The fabricators apprehended were identified as Takotoshi, Age 61 years and Temjen, Age 35 years, resident of Village Sungratsu, Ward No 3, Chumukedima, Dimapur.
The recoveries included one 9mm Revolver (USA made), one 12 Bore Rifle, one .22 mm Rifle, four .22 mm Rifles, four magazines of .22mm Rifle, 08 Wooden Rifle Butt, one Rifle barrel and ammunitions of various calibers. The apprehendees along with recovered items were handed over to Chumukedima Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
